What is Ultra Swank?

Ultra Swank is a blog that takes you back in time into the kitsch, chic and swank living of the 1950s to the 1970s. We mainly focus on the design, architecture and the lifestyle of the happy-go-lucky and space-age living mentality from that era. Including; architecture, interior design, furniture, ephemera, books, art, design, advertising, music, events, travel, amazing people like Arne Jacobsen, Mies Van der Rohe, Pierre Koenig, Joseph Eichler, Eero Saarinen and much more.

Behind the Swank

Ultra Swank was launched by Chris in September 2005 to share his passion for everything retro – whether it is design, music, architecture, movies, photos, interviews, reviews or recommendations from an honest and fun angle. Chris, who is a native Swede – now living as a expat in Barcelona, Spain – shares his time working as a web developer by day and time traveler by night.
