Lisa Predko, a professional photographer from Chicago and lover of all things vintage sends me these lovely 1960s inspired photos that instantly transports you back 50 years or so, to a more fun, colorful and playful time. I love the the attention to detail and color and if you are fascinated by the space age designed television seen above, you should definitively head over to Predicta, who manufactures them (in living color). Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those sets my self, bet it would look snug in any Mid Century modern home! Continue reading for more of Lisa's photos and a short biography about her.

I grew up in a suburb of Lansing, Michigan, in a bedroom with purple shag carpet (explains a lot about my color sensibilities). My parents were always taking pictures-particularly on family trips, birthdays and holidays. These are some of my favorite types of photos. As a kid, we spent a lot of time visiting both sets of Grandparents – I think that's where the love of vintage starts to come in. I adored hanging out in Grandma Predko's kitchen with her; the '50s chrome table usually had an apple pie cooling on it as we arrived and she always had fresh baked cookies in the cookie jars. Grandma Mattfolk used to let my cousin and I play with her great vintage costume jewelry and I loved sitting in the wing back chair in her living room – I liked to think about how the chair was giving me a hug.
For my college photo education I started at Lansing Community College and then transferred to Rochester Institute of Technology. I moved to Chicago in 1996 and assisted several different photographers helping to shoot rock stars one day and Rice Krispies Treats® the next. I began seriously shooting on my own in 2000, having a great love (and growing collection) of all things vintage, I started photographing period pieces for myself. This has led to some fantastic jobs-helping to create the branding for a hamburger chain called Patty Burger as well as photographing a modern pinup calendar for Kilo Kai rum featuring Sabina Kelley. Although I'm not exclusively a retro photographer, it will always be near to my heart!
I'm inspired by and adore the work of Lillian Bassman, Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, and Alfred Hitchcock just to name a few! I collect bark cloth curtains, cardigan sweaters, vintage greeting cards, and Heywood Wakefield. I also love rock-n-roll and muscle cars.
