The last owner bought it for just under a million dollars about 20 years ago when it was still a functioning motel. Vandals have destroyed a lot of the structure and arson has even been attempted. Because the Salton Sea is not a desirable tourist destination, there is hardly any reason to renovate it. That said, I would love to own it if only to fence it off, remodel one wing of it to be a house and to demolish the rest. Even if I had the financial resources for such a folly, it would be a money pit.
