Shopping Spree – Part 9

Don’t know what to spend that extra cash on? Don’t worry, there is still time. Our stores are open at convenient times and located just around the corner here in Yester Sweden.

Today we are traveling back in time to visit Stockholm and Hudiksvall (north of Stockholm) where you can slowly waltz through the many isles of exotic groceries, the latest fashion, brand new color TV models and still have some time left over for a coffee and cupcake at one of the many cafes. Typical anchor stores of the time were ICA, Domus and Tempo – sadly only the first one is still alive.

  • Wow! Great photos! Thank you for posting them! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  • Bim Bom

Which way to the Ikea store?

  • @Jennifer Same to you!

@Bim Bom Straight ahead, past all the mooses, blonde women and polar bears roaming the streets

  • What a cool post — am loving your site (which I happily discovered recently). Great stuff!

  • Likewise Gretchen, love those Eichler homes in California!

  • Royalton

Aha Chris nice one. You also need to add the meatballs restaurant to that list :D

  • I will make a note of that, Royalton :)

  • I’d be curious to see what those same areas look like today. On the other hand I’m afraid to. Better off remembering things the way they were! Love the old Volvos and the VW bus.
