If you are wondering why new posts have been a bit sparse lately it is simple because I have relocated to a new country. I was offered a job in fantastic Barcelona, Spain and had to relocate with short notice. I am now slowly adjusting to my new home and organizing my things, which eats up most of my free time. The normal rate of posts will resume very soon. Bare with me please. (Image)

Time again for changes here at Ultra Swank. This is the forth major revision of the website since its launch in 2005. This time I have focused primarily in usability, speed and presentation of the content. Both images and videos are now displayed much bigger than before and if there are additional images, they are presented in a easy to use gallery under the text. Other changes are the introduction of regular contributors which are attached with their credentials to their posts. This also means that it is now possible to display the posts for each writer on Ultra Swank with one easy click.
What do you think about this update? Except to see some minor changes over the coming week while I tweak and change things as needed. What’s good and what’s maybe not so good? Is there anything that’s not working or looks strange to you? Please drop some lines in the comments link here to the right, thank you!
Ultra Swank – Your one stop blog for retro living, style and design
Ultra Swank takes you back in time into the kitsch, chic and swank living of the 50s, 60s and the 70s. We mainly focus on the design, architecture and the lifestyle of the happy-go-lucky and space-age-living mentality of that era – but also on the music and movies that takes you back to happier times. Ultra Swank is run by Chris, a Swede born in the wrong decade that currently resides in Barcelona. Read more

What you are looking at right now represents many months of late night work sessions. Ultra Swank has been around for a little more than four years now and I thought it was due for a real change, to give it its own style and persona that represents more elegant and fun times. This new design, color scheme and art courtesy of extraordinary artist Blue Hipster (thank you!) hopefully represents that and I hope you will love it as much as I do. Of course it is not only the design that has been updated, a couple of really nice features has also been implemented. Interested in what? Find out after the link.

Welcome to the the cool side of the moon, I have worked hard to ensure that your stay will be an enjoyable and fun one. This update is the biggest one since the launch of the site back in September 2005 and lots of time and effort has been put into moving the blog into another publishing system while at the same time giving the design a update. The decision of moving over to WordPress was a swell one and it will secure the future of Ultra Swank allowing it to grow and to have new features added easily. I would love to hear what you think of the changes. Is there anything that you dislike or could be improved? Please leave a comment or two to let me know what’s on your mind. More information about the changes and the future of the blog after the jump.

If you are wondering why the number of posts have reduced somewhat lately it is because I am making some major changes to Ultra Swank and instead of bringing you new posts I am focusing my time on developing the new version and getting it ready for take off. I am hoping to have the new version of Ultra Swank up and running within a week or two and to keep you all entertained until then why don’t you listen to some swank music? Bare with me, all good things are worth waiting for. See you on the other side of the moon! (Via)

Ultra Swank has been around for almost three years now and I thought it would be a good idea to check in with my readers. So if you are a frequent reader of this blog, I would very much like to know what you think of it.
What do you think of the content? Is there too much of something – or too little? What do you think can be improved? How do you like the comment function? Does it work correctly? Do you like that it opens in a dynamic window? And is there something on this blog that isn’t working correctly for you (anything that looks or behaves in a awkward way)? I am trying to make some improvements on the blog and I really value your feedback. Please take a minute or two and post some feedback in the comments so we can make this blog even better, thank you! Happy new year! First post of 2008, let’s make it a rather good one. Hope that you have truly enjoyed reading my posts about lifestyle and design adventures from another time. Not forgetting my custom compilations especially made for and released through this blog. I have received such good response and praises for all of them and that is what keeps me going. Just knowing that I can make someone happy by sharing what I like best. I know that a lot of you are anxious for me to release more compilations and rest assure, I still got some tricks up my sleeve. I am working on two new compilations, that will be digging deeper into areas not fully explored here yet. Something different, something swizzle cool. Something for everyone in the family.
If you got photos or any other material of things from the past that you will think fit the direction this blog is going in, please feel free to get in touch with me. I will mostly likely create a accessible form soon so that you can contact me easily, without me having to deal with all the spam I would get otherwise. More on that in a later post.
Thank you all for your continued support and amazing comments!
