So 2010 is upon us, it does has a nice ring to it doesn't it? It really feels like we are in the future, not only because of the movie 2010 — but also because of the nice round number which makes me think of catchy retro futuristic theme songs like the one from The Jetsons and Captain Scarlet. Ultra Swank has been around for almost five years now so I thought that it would be interesting to share some numbers with you. As of today there are over 200 posts with 1100 comments, 10 very cool compilations and close to 900 images in the Flickr Photo Group. Thank you everyone (close to half a million people) who have visited the blog over the years and submitted comments, tips, praises and contributions. Without you this website would not exist. Don't forget that you can also follow Ultra Swank on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Here's to another great five years!

Ever since Ultra Swank switched over to the Disqus system for handling comments, there have been issues with old comments not showing up every post. This has bugged me for a long time, but after a long e-mail conversation with the Disqus support team, the comments are now back again and working properly. What you are looking at right now represents many months of late night work sessions. Ultra Swank has been around for a little more than four years now and I thought it was due for a real change, to give it its own style and persona that represents more elegant and fun times. This new design, color scheme and art courtesy of extraordinary artist Blue Hipster (thank you!) hopefully represents that and I hope you will love it as much as I do. Of course it is not only the design that has been updated, a couple of really nice features has also been implemented. Interested in what? Find out after the link.

Welcome to the the cool side of the moon, I have worked hard to ensure that your stay will be an enjoyable and fun one. This update is the biggest one since the launch of the site back in September 2005 and lots of time and effort has been put into moving the blog into another publishing system while at the same time giving the design a update. The decision of moving over to Wordpress was a swell one and it will secure the future of Ultra Swank allowing it to grow and to have new features added easily. I would love to hear what you think of the changes. Is there anything that you dislike or could be improved? Please leave a comment or two to let me know what's on your mind. If you are wondering why the number of posts have reduced somewhat lately it is because I am making some major changes to Ultra Swank and instead of bringing you new posts I am focusing my time on developing the new version and getting it ready for take off. I am hoping to have the new version of Ultra Swank up and running within a week or two and to keep you all entertained until then why don't you listen to some swank music?
