What you are looking at right now represents many months of late night work sessions. Ultra Swank has been around for a little more than four years now and I thought it was due for a real change, to give it its own style and persona that represents more elegant and fun times. This new design, color scheme and art courtesy of extraordinary artist Blue Hipster (thank you!) hopefully represents that and I hope you will love it as much as I do. Of course it is not only the design that has been updated, a couple of really nice features has also been implemented. Interested in what? Find out after the link.
The comments system have been replaced. I am now using a third party plugin from Disqus which has a bunch of nice features.
- Has built in Facebook and Twitter connections which allows you to easily make comments with the use of social websites.
- Individual comments to be replied to in a nested format for easy following.
- Post as a guest or create your own profile at Disqus to keep track of all your comments on every Disqus enabled website.
A Ultra Swank Flickr Photogroup has been created.
- Free for anyone to join and share your own retro related images.
- Published images will automatically show up on the sidebar to the right.
- In time, a really nice archive to use as research and ephemera material.
Ultra Swank now accepts contributors, if you have something you want to share? Here is your chance to be in the lime light.
There has obviously been a lot of more changes and additions but I leave those for you to find and experience on your own. Do not worry about old comments not displaying, they will slowly be integrated into the posts and if you have a Disqus account you can now login to it and claim your old comments to attach them to your profile.
I’d love to hear your feedback about the changes, what do you like or dislike? Is there anything that isn’t working or should be changed?
Thank you for staying with me for all these years!
